So you’ve been selling your images and you’ve reached the threshold for a payout…then what?

I would recommend before you get to this point you sort this out.¬† I would also recommend opening a PayPal account if you haven’t already got one.¬† It can take a week or so to open an account and complete the security verification process.

Once you’ve opened your PayPal account, log into your stock library accounts and update your payment details.¬† That way if they have an automated payment schedule you won’t lose out.

Here’s a list of who pays and when:

Shutterstock: automatically pays out once you reach a threshold of $100 after the 15th of each month

123rf: automatically pays out once you reach a threshold of $100 after the 1st of each month

iStockphoto: manually request a payout, minimum balance of $100

Dreamstime: manually request a payout, minimum balance of $100

Fotolia: sales are paid as credits, once you’ve earned 50 credits you can request a payout

Good luck with your sales.
